Dorset Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS) are keen to fully support all youth groups with safety education and have sessions which cover the requirements of badges and awards for the Scouting and Guiding groups.


Please follow the links
for your organisation to find the specific requirements of your badges and awards and discuss your needs when you book your visit. We encourage you to book a visit for your group to come to their local fire station to have a look around, meet their local firefighters and to learn some important safety messages.
The visit will be delivered using DFRS’s" Safety Awareness and Fire Education –Dorset" (SAFE-D) programme and will cover our five safety aims:
  • Fire prevention in the home
  • Smoke alarms and escape plans
  • Calling 999
  • Not playing with fire
  • Road safety
and any requirements of specific badges and awards.
 
Following the visit your group will be awarded the Bronze Level SAFE-D Award Certificate, you will be informed on how to achieve the Silver and Gold Awards during your visit.
