The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (‘The Act’) places a legal duty on organisations that form part of the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Local Resilience Forum (the LRF) to produce a Community Risk Register. Why? Because there is a need to assess the risk of an emergency occurring in the LRF area, and from time to time assess the risk of an emergency and to develop plans and responses that mitigate these risks, and to inform the public that this is taking place.
Dorset Fire and Rescue is a part of the LRF and we work to together to make sure that we anticipate the types of emergencies which might occur, and plan so that we can all respond effectively if they do.
