Dorset Road Safe

                                               
We work as Dorset Road Safe in partnership with Dorset Police, Dorset County Council Road Safety Team, Bournemouth Borough Council Road Safety Team, Borough of Poole Road Safety Team, Highways Agency, Dorset Road Safety Camera Partnership, South Western Ambulance Service and HM Court Service.

Dorset RoadSafe was established in July 2009 to supersede the Road Safety Tasking & Co-ordinating Group to focus chiefly upon the education of road users as the principle strategy to reduce those killed and seriously injured on the roads of Dorset. The objectives for the group are improved co-ordination, sharing of resources, common tactics and targeted intervention using fully researched intelligence and analytical products.
Our Main purpose
  • To work in partnership to reduce the numbers of people killed and seriously injured on the roads of Dorset therefore making Dorset safer and feel safer.
  • To proactively work together in partnership as key agencies mandated to address Government road casualty targets.
  • To collect, review and analyse available intelligence and other data to identify particular issues relating to road safety for appropriate tasking.
  • To seek, identify and adopt best practice in education, engineering and enforcement solutions and opportunities.
  • To prioritise tasks and co-ordinate resources to tackle identified issues.
  • To continually monitor, review and evaluate the outcome, results and feedback from tasks and campaigns.
  • To develop group strategies in response to local requirements and needs to ensure long term goals on road Safety can be achieved.
  • To develop an effective unified internal and external communications strategy to promote Dorset RoadSafe and to market its road safety initiatives and successes.
