Networked Fire Control Services Partnership (NFCSP)

Following on from the cessation of the Regional Control Centre Project in December 2010, the Networked Fire Control Services Partnership (NFCSP) has been established to provide a collaborative approach to the future provision of fire control services for Devon and Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire fire and rescue services. The partnership covers a total area of 20,785 km2 with a population of 5,125,000. Local control rooms will be located in Exeter, Dorchester, Devizes and Eastleigh.

The partnership is currently in the process of procuring a new command and control system which will be able to provide resilience for each FRS in the partnership in times of spate conditions, such as the recent spate of torrential rain, or a catastrophic mobilising system failure. This will mean that each Control Room will be able to take emergency 999 calls for other Control Rooms within the partnership and mobilise appliances for them if necessary.

A number of potential providers have been invited to tender and following an evaluation process of their responses, a successful contractor will be awarded the contract. The partnership will then commence working closely with the supplier to deliver the new command and control system.
